DAVINCI'S INQUEST SEASON 1
A
short blurb from Acorn Media about Da Vinci's Inquest Season 1: A richly
talented ensemble cast joins award-winning actor Nicholas Campbell in this
critically acclaimed crime series. With this complete first season comprising
13 thrilling episodes, you can savor the delicately nuance drama of Da Vinci's
Inquest from the very beginning.
Da vinci's Inquest is a Canadian Drama Series in the vein of Quincy ME and
CSI about a Coroner in Vancouver, British Columbia. The show stars Nicolas
Campbell as Dominic Davinci, a crusading Doctor who seeks the justice in
the cases that he investigated. This set includes the first 13 episodes
of the series. What I like about this show is the plots and problems that
they deal with and the style of the show is not your typical flashy CSI
style but straight storytelling. The series ran from 1998 to 2005. Also
in this set are a trailer for the series and Cast Filmographies.

KING OF KENSINGTON-SEASON 1
I remember watching
this show on my local CBS station late night in the late 1970's in Tampa,
Florida. The show was great! It was one of the first Canadian sitcoms and
one of the most popular and loved series in Canada. The series starred Al
Waxmen as Larry King, a mom & pop grocery store owner that has a huge
heart and helped people out. Larry also had a group of friends that he would
hang out with. Many now well-known stars had their break on this show. A
12-year old Mike Myers (Austin Powers) was in an episode of this series.
Up until Al Waxmen's death in 2001, Myers kept in touch with Waxmen. Myers
also name the heroine of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery by
the last name of Kensington, in honor of the show. Other guests include
Andrea Martin, Eugene Levy and Dave Thomas from the TV series: Second City
Television". This 2-disc set consists of the first 16 episodes and
also has 2 Audio Commentaries from the creator of the series as well as
a vintage "60 Minutes" type news program that interviewed Waxmen
in 1978.
VIDEO
The video quality is great! Outdoor scenes for the opening theme music is grainy, but that was the practice with programs in the 70's. Each episode runs approx 22 mins long.

RED GREEN SHOW-1998 SEASON
A short blurb from
Acorn Media about "The Red Green Show-1998 Season": As Red says,
"You Have To Grow Old, but you don't have to mature". Eight years
into its 15-year run, The Red Green Show showed no signs of maturity. Join
Red, Harold, and all the guys at Possum Lodge for a year's worth of doing
what men do when women aren't around-and some things that are even worse.
My absolute favorite show from the North is the "Red Green Show"!
I first saw this show on my local PBS station and fell in love with the
goofy character that inhabited Possum Lake. This set is from the 1998 season,

SLINGS & ARROWS-COMPLETE SERIES
Slings & Arrows
is a Canadian TV series set in a Shakespearian festival loosely based on
the Stratford festival that I once attended in 1974 when visiting relatives
in Canada. The Series star is Paul Gross, once star of the CBS series "Due
South". The show is about a troubled Shakespeare company. Geoffrey
Tennant (Paul Gross) was in a production of "Hamlet" a number
of years ago and had a nervous breakdown on stage and was sent to a mental
facility. Years later, he is running a small bankrupt theater company and
is asked to take over for the New Burbage Festival when the artistic Director
is killed by an oncoming truck. The series ran for 3 seasons and 18 episodes.
Created by on of the Kids In The Hall alumni Mark McKinney. The set also

STARLOST-THE COMPLETE SERIES
There was so much going
for this series and it horribly went wrong! First 20th Century Fox was going
to distribute the show and it was going to be filmed in England then it
switched to Canada and ended up being shot on videotape and the special
effects were shot with a higher form of Croma-key which made Doctor Who
look like their special effects were done by ILM! The stories were equally
bad which led the creator of the series Harlan Ellison to use his pseudonym
Cordwainer Bird. Having said all of that, I found watching the series actually
enjoyable. Yes some stories dragged and some were god awful but the series
also had some really good talent such as Sterling Hayden, John Colicos,
Barry Morse, Perry Rodriguez, Simon Oakland, Ed Aames and Walter Koenig
which made the show watchable. The only extra is the original promo film
that the producers showed to the affiliate syndicated stations around the
country. The video quality is fantastic considering that it was shot on
video and the only other way I was able to watch it was very poor copies
that floated around sci-fi conventions.

territory to a protected park. The other members of the cast are the late
Richard Crenna as Hank's father and Al Waxmen from "King of Kensington"
and "Cagney and Lacey" fame. The movie was shot at Dinosaur Provincial
